How To Make Oyster Stew
Ingredients you’ll need:
- 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- Dash of pepper
- Dash of ground mace (optional)
- 1 Tablespoon cold water
- 1 Pint shucked oysters
- 1 Cup light cream
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Paprika
- Oyster Crackers
Instructions:
- In a 2-quart saucepan combine flour, salt, and pepper; stir in ground mace if desired.
- Stir in cold water and then add in undrained oysters.
- Over medium-high heat, cook and stir until hot.
- Reduce heat; simmer, stirring gently for 3-4 minutes or until edges of oysters curl.
- Stir in the cream and milk; heat through.
- Ladle into soup bowls. Top with butter and sprinkle with paprika.
- Serve immediately and enjoy with crackers. Makes 6-8 servings.
